    < Back SweCham would like to warmly welcome our new interns! 8 May 2023 Noel is an exchange student hailing from Borรฅs in Sweden. He is currently studying for a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration. After having studied a semester in Thailand, he is now ready to take the next step in his journey as an intern here at Swecham. With previous experience in e-commerce, online-marketing and event management, it is a huge opportunity for him to apply it in a different part of the world. He hopes to gain international experience to give himself a broader perspective about working and building relations with people all over the world. Liam is a second-year student in International Business and IT at the University of Borรฅs. He is currently at the end of an exchange at Panyapiwat Institute of Management for this semester. After one year in the Swedish Armed Forces, Liam decided to change route into the world of academics. Having previous experience in event hosting, group leading and marketing, Liam is hoping to develop and acquire a more extensive knowledge in his role as Event and Marketing Coordinator, while also gaining general experience with new cultures and networks. The afternoon consisted of delicious Swedish Fika, a fun themed Swedish Quiz along with a Feedback and Q&A session on the Embassyโ€™s social media work. It was a great afternoon to learn more about Sweden and the embassyโ€™s work in Thailand, along with networking with other top fans interested in Sweden.     < Back Expanding our Network: Fika with Distributors and Importers of Swedish Products in Thailand 13 May 2024 On 25 April, the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok hosted a meeting with distributors and importers of Swedish products, together with Team Sweden representatives from Business Sweden and SweCham. The meeting aimed to offer opportunities for these businesses to share their challenges while further expanding the network of the Thailand-Sweden business community. At the meeting, the Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, H.E. Anna Hammargren, provided some key facts on the broad relationship between Sweden and Thailand. Around 100 Swedish companies currently operate in Thailand, some with a long history in the country. In addition, the Embassy is stepping up efforts to develop trade and investments aligned with a new Swedish Government strategy on foreign trade, strengthening Sweden's position as a partner for green and digital transition. On this occasion, the SweCham Team, presented by Dr. Pojanath Bhatanacharoen (Executive Director) and Khun Thittiya Sommana (Events and Marketing Officer), along with the Business Sweden Team, presented by Khun Kacper Pierzynowski (Country Manager) and Khun Patcharee Yodpratum (Consultant, Thailand incl. Myanmar, Cambodia & Lao PDR), participated in the meeting. Our goals were to introduce our organisations to all the participants and understand the barriers and concerns that distributors and importers may have. Moreover, Dr. Pojanath also shared SweCham's advocacy work, offering insights into how SweCham could support Swedish-related companies in Thailand. This support ranges from providing business opportunities through various networking activities to working closely with other trade associations and organisations, serving as a voice for our members' interests. Finally, it was our pleasure to be part of this meeting to understand the needs of Swedish companies in Thailand.     < Back A Night to Remember: Highlights from the Chamber's Annual Installation Ball 1993 5 Sept 2024 โ€˜Chamber Installation Ballโ€™ from STEP Magazine Vol. 3/No.9, November 1993 The Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce commenced the new Chamber year with its Annual Installation Ball on Friday, 29 October 1993, held at The Orientalโ€™s Grand Ballroom . With 140 members and distinguished guests in attendance, the night was one to remember. The evening began formally with Khun Worachai Bhicharnchitr, Vice President of the Chamber, as Master of Ceremony. After the national anthems, Ambassador Heckscher toasted His Majesty the King of Sweden and His Majesty the King of Thailand. Re-elected President Mr. Anders Lundquist introduced the new Board and shared insights into the forthcoming Chamber year. Guests were treated to an elegant four-course dinner paired with fine wines. The entertainment was provided by the Dream&Memory band, which kept the mood lively. The grand raffle was a major highlight, with prizes including a SAS Business Class ticket to Scandinavia, a candlelit dinner voucher, a round-trip ticket to Phuket, golf bags, golf balls, premium French wines, and exclusive ceramics. Mr. Axel Blom managed the raffle draw.
