  • TCEB Strategic Direction 2024: Event Recap

< Back TCEB Strategic Direction 2024: Event Recap 25 Oct 2023 On 24 October, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) organised the TCEB Strategic Direction 2024 event, titled โ€˜Driving Thailand Forward as High-Value Added MICEโ€™, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. SweCham President Peter Bjรถrk participated alongside other JFCCT representatives. In addition to TCEB executives and staff, many organisations in the MICE industry were present, including PATA, TICA, THA, and several airlines. During the event, TCEB executives presented new trends in the MICE industry and discussed how Thailand can reposition itself to compete globally in an ever-changing world, building upon Thailand's existing competitive advantages. The discussion highlighted that Generation Z business travellers will significantly influence the industry, driving new trends and expectations. They will opt for shorter and more frequent trips with a focus on value and results. Technological advancements, including AI, will be utilised to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, making innovation a key factor. MICE events are increasingly viewed as essential business events, empowering employees to fully understand their organisation's vision, values, and culture, shaping a positive perception of the organisation among customers. Regional targets will become more important than global scale, and sustainability practices will be essential. Additionally, TCEB presented a comprehensive survey on factors that matter when choosing destinations, including safety, value for money, readiness of facilities, and local community support. Thailand leads in categories such as value for money, the country's brand image, and readiness of accommodation. However, there is a need to catch up in areas such as technology advancement, high-value destination offerings, and sustainability. The event also discussed transforming Thailand for the future, utilising the country's flagship industries such as food security, creative soft power, health tech innovations, and urban quality of life (QOL) and mobility. Exciting times lie ahead as Thailand navigates these transformative strategies. • 5 Things to Consider Before Buying Safety Shoes

< Back 5 Things to Consider Before Buying Safety Shoes 15 May 2023 As more people become conscious of the importance of safety at their workplace, the demand for safety shoes has increased. While safety shoes started to become an essential part of many workplaces, buying the right pair of safety shoes might be challenging. With so many different types and brands available, you need to carefully consider your options before making a purchase. Five things to consider before buying a pair of safety shoes: 1. Protection Level There are many types of safety shoes on the market. Each provides a different level and type of protection. It all depends on the components of the safety shoes. The thickness of the shoe upper can tell us the durability of the safety shoe itself. Steel toe caps protect the impact from falling objects. Composite midsoles have the feature of the anti-penetration of sharp objects. Each type of outsoles has different functions, either oil, chemical, or slip resistance. The material of the outsole itself can also determine the levels of heat resistance. Know your requirement and pick the right pair of safety shoes with all the components you need for your work application. 2. Comfort Sometimes safety shoes need to be worn for long working hours, they should be as comfortable as possible. Always find shoes that fit your feet well and have enough padding for comfort. Additionally, choose shoes with a breathable material to keep your feet cool and dry throughout the day. 3. Durability Considering the durability of the shoes is crucial cause you do not want to replace them too often. A pair of durable shoes will ensure the user with maximum protection and prevent injury. One main factor for durability will be the material itself. Seek safety shoes made from high-quality materials such as genuine leather will offerlong-lasting support and wear well over a certain period. 4. Style The shoe style is not the top priority when comes to safety shoes, but it should not be overlooked. The design can affect how comfortable the shoes feel, primarily if you work in a job that requires a lot of movement. Selecting a pair of functional and stylish shoes will help boost overall performance with confidence. 5. Cost The cost of safety shoes varies widely depending on the type and quality. While cheaper options may be tempting, investing in a high-quality pair of safety shoes can save you money in the long run by lasting longer and providing better protection. Set a budget and stick to it, while still considering the above factors that have been mentioned. In conclusion, choosing the right safety shoes requires careful consideration of various factors, including protection level, comfort, durability, style, and cost. By taking these factors into account, you can find a pair of shoes that provide optimal protection, comfort, and functionality for your job. With Pangolinโ€™s commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, we have always been a trusted choice for workers and employers. < Back Electrifying Insights with SweCham: A Day at the EEC Business Forum 2023 6 Dec 2023 On 1 December, SweCham participated in the EEC Business Forum 2023, highlighting the electrification empowering for tomorrow at the Eastern Economic Corridor! The event started with a visit to the Hitachi Energy's factory in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate. They adhere to KAIZEN management principles, consistently enhancing the factory to maintain exceptionally high standards with a primary emphasis on safety. The Bangpoo facility of Hitachi Energy stands as one of the group's smaller plants. Despite its size, it distinguishes itself as one of the most productive factories, demonstrating a significant commitment to sustainability and solar energy initiatives. Big thanks to Dr. Worawut Waruttamapornsu, Country Managing Director of Hitachi Energy (Thailand) and Mr. Ekachai Chanyawiwatkul, Operations Manager for the warm hospitality and the excellent tour. Following our visit to Hitachi Energy, we proceeded to the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA). DEPA concentrates on enhancing Thailand's digital economy. In the Thailand Digital Valley, it now also supports firms specialising in virtual products and artificial intelligence. The agency places a strong emphasis on partnering with the private sector, notably Ericsson. Ericsson is in the process of establishing their 5G Innovation and Experience Studio (5GIX) in Thailand's Digital Valley. Our sincere gratitude to DEPA for hosting the lunch and to our speakers, Khun Panitharn Payackapan of Ericsson Thailand and Khun Tipawan Tangjitpiboon, Director of IoT Institute of DEPA for their sharing the latest development and the facilities available for businesses. During the EEC Business Forum 2023, various presentations showcased distinct projects in the region. These speeches outlined key factors that contribute to the attractiveness of the EEC region for investors, including the EEC visa offering a 10-year duration without the need for 90-day reporting. Additionally, attention was drawn to noteworthy infrastructure initiatives, such as high-speed rail and deepwater ports, with projected completion timelines around 2027/28. The conference highlighted how various companies strive to contribute to the development of the EEC. Amata, for example, is actively engaged in shaping smart cities, while GreenYellow Asia specialises in enhancing environmental sustainability at industrial sites through the deployment of solar cells. Additionally, Ericsson plays a pivotal role by contributing advanced 5G technology, aiming to foster greater efficiency and sustainability in production processes. We would like to express our thanks to the sponsors Ericsson, GreenYellow Asia, AMATA, Kirloskar Brothers (Thailand) Limited, VNU Asia Pacific, and GT Auto from Volvo Pattaya for their generous support. Also, special thanks to Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) for their exceptional support.
