The launch of the “IKEA PLANNING STUDIO,” 
a one-stop service solution increasing convenience 
for Thai customers

1 April 2021 – IKEA Thailand, led by Mr. Tom Suter (center), IKEA Bang Yai Store Manager, is continuing to increase convenience for Thai customers, enabling them to design their dream homes more easily by opening the “IKEA Planning Studio” at IKEA Bang Yai. The planning studio is a one-stop service solution for IKEA Family members. Available services include a planning service that’s free of charge, payment, and other services (picking, delivery & assembly, measurement, and installation services), together with consultants and services for B2B customers.

A special promotion to welcome the “IKEA Planning Studio will take place from April 1 – May 4, 2021. IKEA Family members who conduct planning services and make 10,000 baht in purchases from the METOD, PAX or BESTA series (including lighting accessories) will receive a 1,000-baht IKEA gift card (with no limit on maximum spending).

Mr. Tom Suter, IKEA Bang Yai Store Manager said, “IKEA planning services have become very popular. Therefore, we adjusted the service model to better facilitate our customers. Starting at IKEA Bang Yai, we allocated store space to open the ‘IKEA Planning Studio,’ combining kitchen, living room and wardrobe planning services, together with other IKEA services such as payment, delivery and installation, among others. This one-stop service will help customers save time while IKEA experts can assist them in decorating their dream home. A reception area and a children’s play area is available for families. The IKEA Planning Studio is an important way for IKEA to increase convenience and inspire Thai customers so they can have a home that meets their needs and more easily provides functions for every member. In addition, we provide B2B services and consultancy for companies who are looking to furnish their business spaces, called ‘IKEA for Business.’ It is integrated into the IKEA Planning Studio with dedicated teams of sales specialists and interior designers to advise and work closely with the customer’s team.”

The customer journey at the IKEA Planning Studio:

1. Measure the size of the room or area you want to decorate and bring your IKEA Family card. Proceed to the IKEA Planning Studio located in the bedroom showroom on floor 3A at IKEA Bang Yai. Non-IKEA Family members can apply for free and make use of the service immediately.

2. Press for a queue ticket and select the designated service (including kitchen planning, wardrobe planning, storage solutions planning, kitchen and bathroom installation, including furniture delivery and assembly).

3. When it’s your turn, IKEA experts will provide you with planning services and advice in selecting the right products for your selected room or area in terms of ​​use and function. The planning service is free of charge. When the plan is finished, a template with a list of items will be printed out, including various manuals that can assist you in your decision-making (there is no obligation to decide immediately). IKEA will keep the data so that you can come back for service in the future.

4. Cashless payment (no cash is accepted) can be made when you are ready to purchase the items directly at the IKEA Planning Service, completing the process all in one place.

“The IKEA Planning Studio at IKEA Bang Yai is the first planning studio in the World that was opened inside the store. And in the future, planning studios will be available at other IKEA stores as well,” concluded Mr. Suter.

IKEA Family customers are welcome to visit the IKEA Planning Studio at IKEA Bang Yai every day from 11.00 AM, while services for IKEA For Business customers are available Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM. Appointments can be booked in advance at [email protected].
