The First Seminar and Networking of 2016!

Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce hosted the first seminar and networking event of the year at Landmark hotel on Thursday, 4th January.

Sponsored by our corporate member, Jönköping University, the event started with an impressive presentation by Professor Roy Anderson, an assistant professor from School of Engineering. Located between Stockholm and Copenhagen, Jönköping has an advantage as a good logistic hub. The university offers four following schools: School of Engineering, Jönköping International Business School, School of Education and Communication, and School of Health and Welfare.

Student exchange program is highly promoted here at Jönköping. Therefore, a great number of foreign students have contributed an international environment to the university. In addition, the university supports its students to acquire internship or write thesis aboard.

As Sweden is well known for its innovative success, Professor Roy has mentioned a strategy to corporate with Swedish company as well as the global one. Recently, Jönköping University has started “Campus SEA” with a focus on Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, and Singapore. At the moment, the university has already achieved an agreement with Asia Institute of Technology.The evening continued with an inspiring talk from Andrea Bet, an Executive Manager at Electrolux Rayong factory under the topic of How to do business in Asia and Experience from culture differences”

He shared with us his experiences working with the Thais at Electrolux, Rayong factory by pinpointing the differences between Thai and Western values.  Andrea gave us an insightful analysis about how culture plays a role in business. A great workshop was also provided in order to involve the audiences in his seminar.
After the informative session had ended, it was time to mingle with others! Our

 guests gathered together at Huntsman Pub to create and maintain business connection. The networking event was also fully accompanied by free flow of finger food, beer, wine and live music.
