SweCham

History

The Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SweCham) was inaugurated in 1989 by Their Majesties HM King Carl XVI Gustaf and HM Queen Silvia of Sweden, and has over 30 years since its existence, established itself firmly within the Thai-Swedish and international business community in Thailand.  Today, the SweCham has members ranging from well-known multinational companies to small start-ups and local companies, making the Chamber an important trade association representing a range of businesses in Thailand.

Objectives

The Chamber is a member-driven, non-profit, non-governmental organisation offering support and assistance to Swedish, and Swedish-related companies and individuals, in Thailand.  The SweCham is dedicated to:

  • The promotion, advancement and protection of its members’ business interests;
  • Enhancing the commercial relations between Sweden and Thailand, and 
  • Improving the business climate in Thailand through seeking affiliation with appropriate bodies in Thailand.

SweCham

Since 1989

The Chamber conducts an essential role in the Thai-Swedish business community and continuously works to identify business- and trade problems and opportunities. As such, the Chamber provides regular business opportunities for its members through a variety of functions and activities, and it continuously seeks to develop these activities to empower the growing Swedish business community.

SweCham is working closely with other trade associations and organisations, providing a united voice to advocate for the interests of its members and to improve the business climate in Thailand. This includes interaction with for example the Board of Trade, Thai Customs Department, Immigration and Revenue Departments, the Board of Investment etc. facilitating access to top officials in the Thai administration.

The Chamber Board of Directors is composed of a President, three Vice Presidents, and committee members responsible for membership relations, programs and activities, foreign chamber and government relations, legal affairs, media and treasury. An Executive Director and  an Office Manager are running the daily work and administration of the Chamber.
